PIECING TOGETHER SUCCESS:

HEXAGON PUZZLE LAUNCHES AT 2025 SPRING GIFT FAIR

Kiwi Brand PieceHouse has made waves at the 2025 Spring Gift Fair with the launch of its latest innovation; the Hexagon Puzzle, a first-of-its-kind design that reimagines the traditional jigsaw format.

Featuring a distinctive hexagon shape and a signature house-shaped centrepiece, the Hexagon Puzzle was developed over the course of a year and born from a desire to create a unique puzzle experience for customers.

Co-Founders Sophie and Rewa have been exhibiting at the NZ Gift & Homeware Fairs for the last 2 years, and say that the unmatched, in-person impact the Fairs offers made it the perfect platform to launch the product.

A year in the making

The development process behind the Hexagon Puzzle involved extensive research, multiple dieline iterations, and prototype testing with puzzlers.

A unique selling-point for PieceHouse Puzzles is their artist collaborations. Each puzzle is the result of collaboration with different New Zealand artists to design swoon-worthy puzzle artwork.

“We collaborated closely with our artists to create designs that complemented the unique shape, ensuring every detail felt intentional.”

Artists Gerald Taylor (Paradise) and Bronte Jasica (Jolly Good) are behind the Hexagon Puzzles currently available on the market, and since the success of the launch, PieceHouse confirmed that new artwork designs for the Hexagon Puzzle are already in development for release next year.

An Award-Winning success!

PieceHouse’s hard work paid off by with an overwhelmingly positive response from retailers at the Spring Gift Fair. The unique shape and design of the Hexagon Puzzle immediately drew attention to their stand from new and existing customers.

“I’ve never seen anything like this before.” and “It’s such a clever idea!”, were amongst the in-person feedback PieceHouse received on the product, helping to validate their efforts and decision to create the product.

Overall, PieceHouse saw an uplift in wholesale partners following the Fair, with continued interest for the Hexgon Puzzle and other products flowing in afterward. Several new retail accounts across New Zealand were secured and relationships with existing stockists who placed early orders for the Hexagon Puzzle designs were strengthened.

The final cherry on top for PieceHouse? Voted by fair attendees, the Hexagon Puzzle was then awarded the 2025 Spring Gift Fair ‘Best New Product Award’.

THE NEXT STEPS

Following on from their success at the NZ Gift & Homeware Fairs, PieceHouse has also gone on to debut the Hexagon Puzzle at London’s Top Drawer Trade Show, with the aim to also enter the UK retail market. They’ll be back exhibiting at the 2026 Gift Fairs with even more exciting new products!

Co-Founder Sophie’s advice for any exhibitor looking to launch a product at the Fairs is simple; “Use the Fairs not just as a sales opportunity, but as a stage to tell your brand story. Create a stand design that makes people stop and look, and have something tactile or interactive that invites conversation. And don’t underestimate the power of follow-up the Fair is just the beginning of the momentum you can build.”
